Loch Tummel in Autumn

Loch Tummel, a little north of Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire, is a fine loch at any time of year but, in the autumn, Big Tree Country really comes alive with colour. Perhaps more often photographed from the so-called Queen’s view on the Northern shoreline towards Schiehallion, I much prefer the infinitely quieter south side of the loch. Whilst the road on the North side of the Loch is full of coaches, cars, caravans and lorries, the single track road along the south shore is almost totally devoid of traffic and offers a very tranquil setting. An area I want to investigate more fully very soon.
